An initial consultation will take fifty to sixty minutes.
We will begin with a complete assessment where you will be asked about your medical and family history, recent blood tests, medications, supplements, gut health, skin health, physical activity levels, and your current diet.
Following this, realistic and achievable changes for you to make to your diet and lifestyle will be discussed. A dietary and lifestyle plan, based on the above information, will be devised. This acts as a starting point to guide you in a healthier direction.
Completing the food diary and medical questionnaire prior to your initial appointment will helps us to get the most from your scheduled appointment time.
How much does an initial appointment cost?

You can email your GP practice reception to obtain a copy of your recent blood results. Your list of medications. Your medical history.
This is your medical information and good to have for your own records and very helpful when you are having a nutritional assessment completed with a CORU Registered Dietitian.
You do no need to go through the GP. The GP reception can provide this information which your GP can sign off on if needed.
Containers of nutritional supplements are needed as there are 1000s of nutritional supplements on the current market and it can be difficult in clinic to find the actual nutritional content of these supplements without looking at the containers they come in.
Do I need to attend for a review appointment?
It is recommended that you attend for a review appointment to assess your progress and to help keep you accountable to any lifestyle changes needed to support your long term health and wellness. At this appointment we review findings from your initial assessment and make any adjustments necessary to support you on your wellness journey for health promotion disease prevention, management of any pre existing conditions.
Whilst once off appointments will get you started. Review appointments are necessary to help keep you accountable and on track to achieve your health and wellness goals.
How much does a review appointment cost?
CORU Registered Dietitians work therapeutically to support people to make long term sustainable lifestyle change to support health and wellness.
A review appointment is 60 minutes and costs €80.

What is your cancellation policy?
As a courtesy to us and other clients, it's important to provide 48 hours' notice to change or cancel an appointment; otherwise, the full fee will be charged.
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
No, you do not need a referral to make an appointment. However, having a copy of any recent blood results and a list of current medications would be useful for a more comprehensive assessment.
Can I claim fees back from health insurance?
Yes, I am a member of the Irish Nutrition and Dietetics Institute, recognised by health insurers. Receipts are issued after every consultation. Check with your health insurer to see if these are covered on your policy. If these are covered take a picture of your receipt then upload it to your member area on your insurer's website. Your insurer will then process the claim and you will receive a refund within five days.
Can I claim tax back?
You can claim tax relief at the standard rate of 20% on qualifying medical expenses, including fees paid to a CORU registered dietitian. This means that if you spend €100 on a consultation with a registered dietitian, you can claim back €20 in tax relief. The MED1 form is no longer used to claim tax back on medical expenses in Ireland.
The process has been streamlined, and you can now claim tax relief on medical expenses directly through the Revenue Online Service (ROS) or by using the myAccount service on the Revenue website.

Revenue will usually allow claims for the previous four years, so you can still claim for expenses incurred in those years if you haven't done so already.
